There are a ton of directories out there for therapists and business owners and here are the top thirteen directories for therapists outline for you.  Directories are a common way therapists can get referrals and leads, especially for private paying clients. If you do a Google search, these directories are usually the first sites to come up which means people are using them to find therapists.  Now, you don’t have to be on every site; however you may want to try each directory for a period of time and look at how many leads you get and how often you are booking clients from the leads.

1. Psychology Today

Description: A professional listing with Psychology Today will be promoted on all major search engines and independently verified by Psychology Today. It is a trusted source for online referrals for therapists. A membership will also allow you to track the traffic your listing gets on Psychology Today. A listing allows you to completely customize and personalize your profile to cater to your specialties and techniques.

Description: Therapy Den advertises themselves as serving the community with the unique struggles of today; such as white privilege and systemic oppression. Not only can clients find therapists based on issues such as anxiety and depression, but also therapists who specialize in those unique struggles. Therapy Den is in a Beta phase currently and will start charging a monthly fee once they start competing with other major therapist directories. Profiles allow you to include headshots and practice details for clients to find the right match.

3. Network Therapy

Description: Profiles at Network Therapy provide you with an opportunity to include a photo and introductory video for clients. A membership also provides you with the opportunity to post articles and photos to your profile, in addition to performance tracking of your profile.

Description: There are two different types of memberships with Nearby Therapists. 6. Selling the Couch Directory

Description: With Selling the Couch, a membership will provide you a listing that makes referrals easier and connect you to other colleagues in the field. Also, there are opportunities to connect with others through the Selling the Couch book club or a live Q & A with other therapists.
